It’s been a long time coming to the Outer Banks and I’m excited to be a part of it!  Beachwoods Resort will be the premier resort on the Outer Banks!  Gold Key Resorts is transforming the former Barrier Island Station Kitty Hawk into a Four Seasons Outer Banks Resort.

This will be the first Outer Banks timeshare resort to offer owners the opportunity to visit  Coastal North Carolina during any season and have access to incredible amenities on site, not found anywhere else on the Outer Banks.

For those not familiar with Gold Key Resorts, headquartered in Virginia Beach; they have transformed the Virginia Beach Boardwalk and oceanfront into a beautiful and inviting place to visit by the seashore.  They have developed and manage several timeshare resorts, hotels and restaurants.   Their properties are top-of-the-line and offer great accommodations, amenities and dining in the area.  It was great news for me when I was notified that Gold Key Resorts had purchased the Outer Banks property in Kitty Hawk.

As a timeshare owner at the former Barrier Island Station, I was thrilled to be part of this exciting new resort being developed on the Outer Banks.  I have been a visitor to the Outer Banks for many years, having lived within a two-hour drive all my life.   I love visiting these shores and towns during every season of the year.  Now, I can have a true resort stay when I’m visiting during the off-season.

Timeshares on the Outer Banks have always been “rustic”.  That’s what I love about the “older” Outer Banks.  I have been fortunate to have been a timeshare owner at several of the timeshare resorts in Kitty Hawk, Duck, Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head.  As a very young couple, we bought our first timeshare at Barrier Island Station Duck.  It was a Week 12.  It was a great little two bedroom, two bath ground level unit in the 300 Building.  That was in 1984.  We enjoyed that timeshare ownership for 25 years.  My husband and I, and our extended family enjoyed many March stays on the Outer Banks.

The timeshare resorts on the Outer Banks were built in the 80s and 90s.  Each offers an opportunity to enjoy lodging in one or more bedrooms with full kitchens and resort amenities onsite.  I don’t mind “rustic” interiors or exteriors  when I’m on the Outer Banks.  The timeshare locations are terrific.  It’s my opportunity to own my little  piece of the Outer Banks

I’m ready for Beachwoods and the next generation of Vacation Ownership on the Outer Banks.  I like to change things up.  Enjoying upgraded units and state-of-the art amenities sounds very appealing to me sometimes.  I enjoy other activities while on the Outer Banks that don’t require a beachfront location.  But for other times ocean side is necessary.  Then others, you’ve got to have an oceanfront unit.
